Sulfadoxine, alias sulfadoxine, English name SULFADOXINETABLETS. It is white or almost white crystalline powder; it is odorless or almost odorless, with a slightly bitter taste; it changes color when exposed to light. This product is slightly soluble in acetone, slightly soluble in ethanol, and almost insoluble in water; it is easily soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide solution. It is used for bacterial infections such as hemolytic streptococcus, pneumococcus and Shigella, but it is now rarely used.
