Silver sulfadiazine is a sulfadiazine/silver salt antibacterial drug with a chemical formula of C10H9AgN4O2S. It is a white or off-white crystalline powder that is easily deteriorated when exposed to light or heat. It is used to treat infections in burns and scalds. In addition to controlling infections, it can also promote dryness, crusting and healing of the wounds. After applying the medicine, it becomes dark brown when exposed to light.
