| What's Valnemulin hcl? Valnemulin (Valnemulin) is a new generation of pleuromutilin (pleuromutilin) semi-synthetic antibiotics. It belongs to the diterpene class and belongs to the same class of drugs as Tiamulin. It is an animal-specific antibiotic. It is mainly used for the prevention and treatment of mycoplasma and Gram-positive infections in pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry. It was approved by the European Community in 1999 for the prevention and treatment of swine dysentery caused by Brachyspira hyodysenteriae infection and swine endemic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection. It is the first veterinary drug premix approved in Europe and is listed as a veterinary prescription drug Application & Function of Valnemulin hcl Vonemulin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the ribosome level, and also inhibit RNA synthesis at high concentrations. It is mainly bacteriostatic, but also bactericidal at high concentrations. It has a wide antibacterial spectrum and is effective against G+ and G- bacteria. It is highly effective against Mycoplasma and Spirochetes, but is less effective against intestinal bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella. |
