	What is Colchicine? Colchicine is one of a group of macrocyclic alkaloids. Chemical formula: C22H23NO6. It is commonly found in the liliaceae plants of Jialan and Lijiangshan, with the content of 0.11% and 0.1%, respectively. Alkaloids, extracted from the plant colchicine, inhibit the formation of spindle filaments and thus delay the division of the centromere.
