Marigold Extract 98% Lutein Zeaxanthin CAS: 144-68-3
Name : Lutein
Shape : Yellow crystalline powder
As a natural plant pigment with multiple biological activities, lutein has been widely used in food, drugs and cosmetics. However, due to the unsaturated structure of most lutein, lutein has poor water solubility and stability, easy degradation and inactivation, and low oral bioavailability, which greatly affects its efficacy. 1g of lutein is equal to 1g of gold [6] and is given the reputation of "plant gold".
Lutein is the main carotenoid in macula, which can filter the blue light entering the retina of human eye to a certain extent, effectively reduce visual damage, and inhibit the activity of oxygen free radicals to prevent the destruction of oxygen free radicals on visual cells. The exact cause of AMD is unknown, and may be related to genetic, long-term light impairment, metabolic and nutritional dysfunction. Lutein and zeaxanthin supplementation can improve early functional abnormalities of the central retina in patients with early AMD.
