What's Miconazole nitrate?  Miconazole nitrate is an antifungal synthetic derivative of imidazole and used in the treatment of candidal skin infections, Miconazole selectively affects the integrity of fungal cell membranes, high in ergosterol content and different in composition from mammalian cells membranes. Miconazole is used to treat ring worm, pityriasis versicolor, and yeast infections of the skin or vagina. It is applied to the skin or vagina as a cream or ointment. Application & Function of Miconazole nitrate Miconazole nitrate is an antifungal drug. This product can inhibit the growth of most fungi at a concentration of 4mg/L. Blastomyces and Histoplasma are highly sensitive to it. Cryptococcus, Candida, and Coccidioides are also sensitive to this product. It can interfere with the activity of cytochrome P-450 to inhibit the biosynthesis of ergosterol, the main sterol in the fungal cell membrane, damage the fungal cell membrane and change its permeability, resulting in the leakage of important intracellular substances; it can also inhibit the fungus The biosynthesis of triacylglycerol and phospholipid inhibits the activity of oxidase and peroxidase, and causes the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide in the cell, which leads to degeneration of cell submicron structure and cell necrosis.
