What is Tinidazole? Tinidazole belongs to the same nitroimidazole group as metronidazole. It has good activity against protozoa (Ameba histolytica, Trichomonas vaginalis, etc.) and anaerobic bacteria. It is better than metronidazole against amoeba and Giardia lamblia. Gram-positive anaerobes (Clostridium perfringens, Streptococcus perfringens, Lactobacillus spp.), Clostridium difficile and Clostridium difficile are more sensitive to the product; it is slightly better than metronidazole against Gram-negative anaerobes such as Bacteroides fragilis, Clostridium perfringens and Fibrobacter spp. Campylobacter jejuni, etc., are moderately sensitive to the product. Actinobacillus spp. and Propionibacterium spp. are resistant to the product. Its mechanism of action is inhibition of pathogen DNA synthesis and rapid intracellular entry. |
Application & Function It is often used in combination with other anti-aerobic drugs for the treatment of sepsis caused by various anaerobic bacteria, respiratory tract infections, abdominal and pelvic infections, unclean abortion, cellulitis, etc. It can obtain satisfactory results. The product can also be used in combination with aminoglycosides and other antibiotics to prevent postoperative infections in surgical colon and rectal surgery, oral surgery and obstetrics and gynecology. |
