Clindamycin is an antibiotic which inhibits bacterial protein synthesis and is concentration dependent. Sensitive organisms to Clindamycin are usually gram-positive cocci and many anaerobic bacteria. As an inhibitor of protein synthesis, Clindamycin binds to the 50s ribosomal subunit and is reported to inhibit peptidyltransferase and therfore affecting the process of peptide chain initiation. Additionally reported to possibly stimulate the dissociation of peptidyl-tRNA from ribosomes, therefore inhibiting protein synthesis.
Phosphate(Cilindamycin phosphate) It has the similar antimicrobial spectrum, antibacterial activity and treatment effect to clindamycin, it has better fat soluble and permeability than clindamycin, take orally or intramuscular injection and intravenous drip. Compared with lincomycin, the antibacterial action is 4~8 times stronger, and has strong antibacterial activity to gram-positive coccus and anaerobe, the antimicrobial spectrum is: gram-positive coccus include staphylococcus epidermidis, streptococcus, streptococcus pneumoniae,micrococcus, etc.; gram-positive bacillus include clostridium difficile, corynebacterium diphtheriae, etc.; anaerobe include clostridium, bacteroides, fusitormis, propionibacterium, eubacterium, anaerobic cocci, etc

Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic. It is usually used to treat infections with anaerobic bacteria, but can also be used to treat some protozoal diseases, such as malaria. Combination products include Duac, BenzaClin, Clindoxyl and Acanya (in combination with benzoyl peroxide), and Ziana (with tretinoin). Clindamycin is also available as a generic drug.
