What is Felodipine? Felodipine is used for the treatment of hypertension. It is a selective calcium antagonist, mainly inhibits the inward flow of extracellular calcium in the smooth muscle of small arteries, selectively dilates small arteries, has no effect on veins, and does not cause postural hypotension. The product does not affect glomerular filtration rate and creatinine clearance rate while decreasing renal vascular resistance, and renal blood flow is unchanged or even slightly increased, with pro-sodium excretion and diuretic effect. It increases output and cardiac index, significantly reduces afterload, and has no significant effect on cardiac systolic function, preload and heart rate. |
