Cartap Hydrochlorideis a moderately toxic insecticide. No allergic reaction to eyes and skin under normal conditions. No carcinogenic, teratogenic, or mutagenic effects were seen. Toxic to fish, toxic to bees and silkworms, low-toxic to birds, non-toxic to natural enemies such as spiders.
Character description: white powder, melting point 179-181°C. It is soluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol, ethanol, and insoluble in organic solvents such as acetone, ether, ethyl acetate,
benzene. The pH of 1% aqueous solution is 3-4. It is stable under normal temperature and acidic conditions, but unstable under alkaline conditions.
