Vitamin K2 is a series of terpene side chain compounds containing 2-methyl-1, 4-naphthoquinone parent nucleus and C3 with different number of isoprene structural units, which can be divided into K2(10), K2(20), K2(35), K2(40), etc., according to the number of carbon elements in the terpene side chain.

 

Vitamin K2 is a kind of fat soluble vitamin, which is a derivative of naphthoquinone group with phytoquinone biological activity. It is one of the important and indispensable vitamins in human body.

 

Vitamin K2(35) was vitamin K2 with 35 carbon elements in the terpene side chain. Vitamin K2(35) is also called menaphthoquinone-7, which is named after the seven isoprene side chains in its terpene side chain. Vitamin K2 is the only biologically active form of vitamin K, and is used to accelerate blood clotting, maintain clotting time, and treat hemorrhamia caused by vitamin K deficiency.

1. Calcium into bone: Vitamin K2 can help osteoblast secretion of primary osteocalcin carboxylation, into active osteocalcin, thereby promoting the deposition of calcium ions in the blood into bone. If vitamin K2 is sufficient in the body, osteocalcin can be activated. The activated osteocalcin has a unique affinity for calcium ions, which can draw calcium into the bone and deposit calcium salts, thus promoting bone mineralization. 

 

2. In the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, vitamin K2 produces bone protein, which then works with calcium to produce bone, increase bone density and prevent fractures.

 

3. Vitamin K2 can prevent cirrhosis from progressing to liver cancer.
