Acetazolamide, named Acetazolamide in Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Acetazolamide is a diuretic. Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors inhibit carbonic anhydrase in renal tubular epithelial cells after taking it, so that the formation of H2CO3 is reduced, and the production of H+ decreases. Therefore, the exchange of H+ and Na+ is greatly slowed down. As a result, the excretion of HCO3-, Na+, and K+ increases, and the urine output increases. The product can still inhibit the secretion of aqueous humor and reduce intraocular pressure. It is used to treat glaucoma, mild cardiac edema, etc.
