1. Doxycycline can be used as the drug of choice for the treatment of the following diseases: rickettsial disease, including epidemic typhus, endemic typhus and scrub typhus;Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection;Chlamydia infection, including parsittaria fever, chlamydia lymphogranuloma (venereal lymphogranuloma), nonspecific urethritis, salpingitis, and trachoma;Relapsing fever.Brucellosis (combined with aminoglycosides);Cholera;Plague (combined with aminoglycosides);Tularemia.
2. Doxycycline can be used to treat tetanus, gas gangrene, yaks, syphilis, gonorrhea and leptospirosis that are allergic to penicillin antibiotics.
3. Doxycycline can also be used for the treatment of respiratory tract, biliary tract, urinary tract and skin soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria.
4. Since there is no apparent renal toxicity, doxycycline can also be used in infected patients with tetracycline indications but with renal impairment.
