Vitamin B2 (chemical formula: C17H20N4O6, formula 376.37), also known as riboflavin, is slightly soluble in water and is stable in heating in neutral or acidic solutions. It is a component of the flavin-based prosthetic group in the body (the yellow enzyme plays a hydrogen-promoting role in bio-oxidation).
