What is Vitamin k3? Vitamin K3 is a synthetic substance similar to VitK, which is converted into active form in the body as a provitamin. It is a derivative of menadione with vitamin K activity, an essential substance for the liver to synthesize prothrombin (factor B), and participates in the synthesis of coagulation factors. It is also an indispensable factor in the synthesis of calcitonin (BGP), and is mainly used in the breeding industry. |
| Application & Function Application of vitamin K3 in aquaculture: (1) It is mostly used to prevent and treat hemorrhagic diseases and septicemia in fish or to assist in the treatment of certain chronic diseases in fish. (2) In addition to being used to stop bleeding, vitamin K3 for chickens has also been found to have new pharmacological effects: first, anti-inflammatory; second, antidiarrheal; third, reducing mucosal congestion and edema; fourth, antipyretic and analgesic. Adding vitamin K3 (0.53 mg/kg body weight) to feed can shorten blood clotting time and prevent bleeding, thereby reducing the mortality rate of chicks. This method is one of the effective auxiliary measures for the treatment of coccidiosis in chickens. Vitamin K3 is good for treating white diarrhea in chicks. It is used for intramuscular injection twice a day, with a dose of 2 mg per kilogram of body weight per day, or double the amount of drinking water. Generally, the medication takes effect on the first day and recovery occurs on the third day. |
