Amitraz, also known as mite gram, is an organic compound with a molecular formula of C19H23N3. Formamidine acaricides, which were launched in the 1970s, can be obtained by the aminolysis reaction of monoformamidine and CH3-C7H13-N=CHOC2H5.
The product was colorless needle crystals. Insoluble in water. Oral LD50 of mice: 600~800 mg/kg. It has contact killing and fumigation effects on harmful mites, and is effective on eggs, nymphs and adult mites. It is used as acaricide in agriculture and livestock.
