Function	Oxolinic acid is a synthetic quinolone Antibiotic. Oxolinic acid acts by inhibiting Bacterial DNA-gyrase activity. It is authorized in veterinary medicine for use in fin fish , calues, pigs and poultry.

It belongs to the first generation of quinolone drugs, its mechanism of action is to
inhibit the synthesis of bacterial deoxynucleotides. There is a strong antibacterial effect
against gram-negative bacteria, but no antibacterial action against fungi and tuberculosis.
Strong antibacterial activity against fish pathogens such as Aeromonas monocytogenes,
Aeromonas hydrophila, and Vibrio anguillarum.
