Chromafenozide [] is a new insecticide jointly developed and put into practical use by Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd. and Sankyo Co., Ltd. (now Sankyo Agricultural Co., Ltd.). Chromafenozide is a double hydrazide insecticide, which inhibits the feeding of pests within a few hours after feeding, and at the same time causes the pests to shed their skins in advance and cause death.
Chromafenozide is not only low-toxic to mammals, birds, and aquatic organisms, but also has no effect on arthropods, predatory ticks, spiders, hemiptera, coleoptera (beetles), parasites and the environment. Therefore, it is an ideal medicament in the comprehensive pest management system.
Chromafenozide can inhibit insect feeding within a few hours after being ingested by insects and cause premature molting of insects and lead to death. The symptoms are the same as those of diphenhydrazide compounds such as RH-5849 and RH-5992. It interferes with the molting process of insects by regulating the activity of larval hormones and ecdysone, causing premature molting and death of insects. Because it can quickly inhibit the feeding of insects, compared with other commonly used 1GR, it can reduce the damage to crops. To noctuids and other caterpillars, Chromafenozide has a strong insecticidal activity regardless of the period.
