Erythromycin is big ring lactone antibiotic, antibacterial spectrum and penicillin are similar, to gram positive bacteria, such as staphylococcus, pyogenic streptococcus, green streptococcus, streptococcus pneumoniae, streptococcus faecalis, hemolytic streptococcus, clostridium bacillus, diphtheria bacillus, anthrax bacillus have stronger inhibitory effect. To gram negative bacterium, if gonococcus, helicobacter, pertussis bacili, brucella, legionella, meningitis diplococcus and haemophilus influenzae, bacteroides, partial dysentery bacili and escherichia coli also have certain inhibitory effect.
