Product Description Bacillus thuringiensis can be a microbial source of low-toxicity insecticide, with the main effect of stomach toxicity. The bacterium can produce two major types of toxins, namely endotoxin (with cell crystals) and exotoxin, which can make the pest stop feeding and finally die due to starvation and cell wall rupture, blood corruption and neurotoxicity; while the exotoxin acts slowly and is obvious during molting and metamorphosis, these two periods are the peak of RNA synthesis, and the exotoxin can inhibit the DNA-dependent RNA polymerase. The drug is slow acting, the pests can only be effective about 2 days after feeding, and the holding period is about 1 day, so it should be used 2 to 3 days earlier than conventional chemicals, and the effect is better when used at the low age of the pests. It is safe for fish and bees, but highly toxic to silkworm. |
