Secnidazole is an anti-infective agent of the nitroimidazole class.Seconidazole is a 5-nitroimidazole antigenic/microbial agent, which is similar in structure and pharmacological action to metronidazole.
The in vitro antigen spectrum of secnidazole is similar to that of metronidazole, including Trichomonas vaginalis, Trichomonas bovis, Amoeba dysenteriae, and Giardia lamborum (Giardia duodenalis, Giardia enterica).
The MIC of the product against Trichomonas vaginalis was similar to that of metronidazole (0.7μg/ mL), and the minimum inhibitory concentration of the product against amoeba dysenteris was similar to that of metronidazole (6μg/ mL).
The minimum inhibitory concentration of secnidazole against Giardia duodenum (0.2μg/ mL) was significantly lower than that of metronidazole (1.2μg/ mL).
